Presented here are  fourteen  \ttracks on seventy-one minutes, so there\u2019s plenty of room for everyone  to get  \tinto this album. The digipack contains some (cool) illustrative images  of  \tthe coldness this release somehow exhales (desolate snowy landscapes),  \texcept for the cover itself, which I can\u2019t find to be related with the  \tmusic.<\/p>\n<p>Their work is somehow hard to grasp at first hearings, as the album  merges a  \tdistinct amount of aesthetics, ranging from the progressive ambient  style of <em>Blue 6<\/em>\u2019s delicate beat, the minimal and dirty rhythm of <em>She Dives  With  \tFireflies<\/em>, the noisy <em>Washu Theme<\/em>, the lush synth use on <em>Perverted  Magic  \tUser<\/em> and the spatial eeriness of the title-track.<\/p>\n<p>Most notable is <em>Ice-Cold Blood<\/em>, perhaps the best offering on <em>Uki  Uki<\/em>.  \tThis is, I believe, <strong>Roricat <\/strong>at its best \u2013 a very intelligent and well  \tthought-out song revolving around a neat trip-hop feeling and very  appealing  \tguitar riffing with lots of electro sounds layered in the background.  \t\u201cHelica\u201d reminds me a lot of Coil\u2019s dance tracks, while <em>Hive<\/em>,  alongside  \tthe aforementioned <em>Ice-Cold Blood<\/em>, is an outstanding song, finally to   \tpresent Julica\u2019s voices at the very end. Even though firmed in the  \telectronic camp, the Russians seem to be surprisingly capable of  generating  \ta very organic and human feeling throughout the album. Just take, for  \tinstance, the closing track <em>Homeworld<\/em>, which actually gyrates around a   \tquasi-melancholic water-flowing sample.<\/p>\n<p><em>Uki Uki<\/em> is a very accomplished release, another one by the  first-rate  \tlabel that is <strong>HORUS CyclicDaemon<\/strong>. Very evocative, imaginative and  diverse in  \tits approach, the Russian duo experiments, distorts, <em>plays<\/em> and  never  \tceases to find itself creating unique songs.
